Senior Product Manager

Convox is an open-source project that solves integration challenges for every developer and engineering organization that wants to deploy onto the best production infrastructure in the world.

  • Collaborated with Senior Product leadership and the executive team, focused on understanding the behavioral drivers of Convox’s global ecosystem of B2B certified partners and customers.
  • Responsible for the full product lifecycle and product roadmap from determining strategic initiatives.
  • Created the product vision, defined OKR metrics, to prioritize product features for customers’ needs, which aligned with Convox’s business goals and objectives.
  • Key Accomplishments: 

    • Created the vision, OKR metrics, and launched Convox’s Voice/IoT channel partner product by enlisting industry leaders in the voice space like– Jovo, Botsociety, Bespoken and SaySpring. Allowing partners to configure and integrate the latest and best AWS/Kubernetes services to provide a production-ready infrastructure for their applications, saving them 35 hours per month in DevOps tasks. 
    • Led Convox Pro product strategy for our new flagship product for Voice & IoT SaaS companies which generates +$5M in top-line ARR and increased retention to 2% gross customer churn.

Signature Blends offers a growing portfolio of smoking cessation products and is focused primarily on helping people quit smoking, supplying to over 100+ retail shops and ~10 distributors locally & internationally, besides manufacturing for several vape brands in BC. (Acquired by Premium Labs Inc.)

  • Drive product strategy, plans, and initiatives that align with corporate strategy to increase the 40% YOY consistent growth of product in the target market of US/Canada.
  • Develop product positioning, value props and messaging that differentiates Signature Blends’ product in the market and addresses the needs of the target personas.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams like sales, pre-sales, customer success, services and partners for execution of GTM plan, field enablement and alignment.
  • Provides direction to scrum teams including articulation of requirements, defining must have vs. good to have requirements, writing of user stories and backlog management.

The eBoards Co. was founded to solve “the last mile problem” and challenge the status quo in the current systems of transportation. We craft perfect Individualized Electric Vehicles on the coast of BC (Acquired byBackFire Boards).

  • Created budgets and managed P&L for an annual sales revenue of $1 million, working with direct & indirect stakeholders, developing new products alongside fostering relationships with vendors and training sales associates.
  • Collaborated with vendors & suppliers to effectively execute projects within time & budget constraints.
  • Migrated departments into a turnkey operation enabling efficiency across multiple project lifecycles.

As the Product Manager @ The eBoard Co.

  • Led Technical R&D; draw product roadmaps by balancing short-term business goals with the long-term strategy.
  • Maintain hardware + firmware roadmaps using JIRA. To oversee Document and Version Control: management (documenting and tracking firmware versions along with the associated release notes)
  • For Product Planning, use Confluence, Trello or Asana depending on the project needs; team proficiencies.

We create community-driven campaigns to engage, educate, and empower people in order to safeguard the Internet. Our work focuses on Three Pillars of Internet Freedom: Access | Free Expression | Privacy through community-driven campaigns.

  • Designed and implemented Content Strategy to stem user churn; increased donations and volunteers by 12%.
  • Developed Digital Strategy roadmaps in an editorial and technical capacity in collaboration with the stakeholders.

  • Aligned internal objectives that pared-down feature list by 50%; prioritized to enable rapid development of critical features.
  • Created a business vertical providing end-to-end services for Hardware Entrepreneurs, start-ups (B2B + B2C streams) – from product design, development, manufacturing, certification to marketing, shipping and e-commerce.

Digital Project Manager @ SFU Media Lab

Sensing a lack of a platform for projects produced at the Media Lab, I jumped at the opportunity to build a YouTube-like service for SFU MediaLab creators.

@mTube: Our mission is to provide a Media interface for easy access including the ability to showcase productions created @ the SFUMediaLab. W/ PROF. DAVID MURPHY. Spring 2016.

Today, the ability to share videos freely is ubiquitous. Prof. Murphy offered me the opportunity to work with him on trying to R&D an alpha-pilot of a Video CMS through Open-Source means that should afford a portfolio for every student @ the MediaLab and the heaps of content produced. MediaTube or mTube would be the solution. Essentially, a cross between YouTube and Netflix for SFU MediaLab content creators to host their productions and have it be accessible to the general public, thereby offering their work credibility and a home.

The Media Lab @ SFU has an ongoing mandate to analyze the variety of production paradigms that are developing due to the emerging digital video technology. With an emphasis on the production of diverse media within a multi-format and cross-platform production facility.

This workshop provides an overview of risk communication and its perception, as a background to designing mediated health and environmental media, targeted at specific demos.

  • We examined the growing role that video is playing in a variety of PR, industrial, advocacy and educational contexts.
  • The emphasis of this course was on issues of communication design in relation to the goals and values in specific communication forums using several media formats.

VIDEO ETHNOGRAPHY – An advanced workshop in media analysis & applied research.

  • Conducted research exploring the changing patterns of media consumption amongst millennials.
  • Created, Filmed and Edited critical pieces of cultural commentary on millennials’ relationship with technology incl. a music video depicting the transgressions of technology within our lifestyles, co-produced & co-directed with Curtis C. under the guidance of Prof Kline.

Produced segments for ‘On The Hill’ – SFU School of Communication’s digital media platform and documentary program at SFU. Students draw on their understanding of public communication in democracies and media analysis skills to create new and innovative visual and aural journalism.

  • Published an investigative report on the Teaching Support Staff Union’s (TSSU) job action.
  • Covered a segment on dwindling affordable food options on university’s BBY campus.
